This fall, CSNTM began a new initiative to purchase cutting-edge Multi-Spectral Imaging (MSI) equipment. MSI is used to digitize manuscripts whose text is unreadable because of smudges, erasures, or other damage. Since these documents cannot be read with the naked eye, they are an untapped resource for the study of the New Testament. CSNTM will take this equipment to dozens of places where damaged, handwritten copies of the New Testament are waiting to be read for the first time in centuries!
CSNTM wants to couple its expertise in digitization with this game-changing technology to make these important documents freely available at CSNTM.org. This state-of-the-art equipment will cost the Center $125,000. Thanks to many generous donors, they have already raised $60,000 toward this goal!
